My friend Lex Singer and I were joking about how seriously ad people treated industry lists like “30 under 30” or "40 under 40". So we decided to create our own list, but make it the most ridiculous list possible. After four months of research, countless web design tutorials and reaching our view limit on LinkedIn we launched "500 under 500", a list featuring 500 people in advertising under the age of 500.
The site generated a ton of buzz and was picked up by industry blogs and media outlets.
Besides the overwhelming love we got, the best part was seeing how proud so many family members were on Facebook.
